Since you’ve been gone is a new partnership project between Support After Suicide and Anvil Productions.  Playwright Rebecca Lister will work with dramaturge Mari Lourey and actor Joanne Davis.

This new work – a two hander written - will be a combination of verbatim and real stories collected from people who have lost a loved one to suicide.

It is envisaged that the script will be approximately 70 minutes in length and will lend itself to a simple set and soundscape making it highly accessible for presentation and touring.

People who have been affected by suicide often state that they feel judged and stigmatised and as a consequence feel isolated, outcast and silenced. Lister has been exploring the topic of silence through her artistic and community cultural development work for over twenty-five years.  She has worked extensively with those who have been ‘locked out’ of our society – be it via incarceration, mental health, drug and alcohol misuse, grief, social isolation, shame and/or loss.
